Play MP3 playlist over network

I have a network share on my Windows XP Pro PC with 4.7GB of MP3's and WMA's in it. Can I have my PocketPC (using Windows Media Player) play randomly through these songs? I have tried creating an M3U playlist that contains the path to all the songs, but it doesn't seem to be working.
