A05 is WM 2003 (PPC 2003). You need to call Dell sales to order the upgrade to 2003. It costs $29 + shipping.

Did you follow Dell's instructions - EXACTLY? Seems some don't and failure is guaranteed.

yeah i did a backup and then started to upgrade and it states cant upgrade AO3 to AO5

did you install the newest copy of active sync? i did ao3 to a05, and it worked fine. twice

It sounds like you have the A04 to A05 update CD.

You need to order the PPC2002 to WM2003 (A05) upgrade CD from Dell for around $30 + S/H.
