I remember seeing messages about this, so I know others have had the same experience......

Soon after (finally!!) receiving my upgrade disc from Dell, I received an email that my shipment was backordered and that if I did not respond it would be cancelled and my credit card would not be charged. Of course I did not respond. But I never checked if I was charged (or refunded).

Did anyone with a similar Dell experience end up getting the upgrade and not getting charged for it??? If not, I won't bother trying to find the applicable credit card statement.....

I was provided the upgrade WM2003 disc for free, as I ordered my Axim with PPC 2002 after 5/23/03 (start date for free upgrade). Took a while to get it, but it did come to me @ no charge

Aero...Are you in the US?? also...I had ordered after 5/23 and I also called for the free upgrade but I have not gotten anything yet and they cancelled my order....so it stinks!

Is there anything specific I shoulod call dell and say?? thanks!

Some may dispute it, but yes, NJ is part of the US

Ted -- yes the same happened to me. I got up to 5 calls between the time I ordered (when it was on sale) and I finally got it. Each time it said if you don't call it'll be cancelled. However, when they started shipping I got mine and they charged me.

My Dell charge card statement arrived today. The charge was there..... Guess the Dell accounting department is in better shape than the others......

Well, I did get the upgrade for no charge, but in a different way. I just called Dell a couple of days ago about the d-button on my ppc02 being "squishy" and they sent a replacement unit. It had wm03 on it, but I didn't recieve disks or anything, but, technically, I do have the upgrade at no charge.
