I have all of my frequently used programs on the today screen and the rest in the programs folder.

I just wanted to be about to go to the programs folder and see all of the programs I don't frequently use without having to scroll up and down.

I didn't like smallmenu at all, too much fiddling for what it does.

Your little app is SOOOO close.

Thanks!

For anyone who cares I've figured out how to use VJSmallIcons without mapping it to a button.

It's very easy

Install the cab, then go to windows/startmenu/programs. Then go to the vjsmallicons (it will be in a couple of folders)and cut and paste it into the main programs folder (you can delete the empty folders now). Then rename the shortcut to aavgsmallicons or something like that so that it is at the top of the list.

Now when you go into start/programs if the program icons are big just tap the aavgsmallicons and they will all become small.

Saves all that scrolling!

If you have other folders in your program folder you can paste the smallicons shortcut into those folders too and with a tap they will become small. Yippee, very simple.

So you would require a resident program to hack the memory, or to reapply the style every time you change folder.

I'm thinking about updating some of my programs this weekend. I'll give it a go if I get a chance. However, Why the hell wouldn't you use SmallMenu, or Resco, or any other launcher?

Another problem with this application is the lack of a horizontal scrollbar which would allow you to see all your listed programs if you have more than 26 in one of these folders.

True, You can toggle right and left on the D-PAD to see them.

I try to keep less than 26 programs/folder though so I won't have to toggle. :)

Aaaah! I see. Someone else was trying to explain about the missing scrollbar and I never understood him. I'll see if I can re-implement that as well. I will also venture into the shady world of making the icon size persisent, being a "programmer" and all (I'm actually a lawyer, but don't tell anyone...)

SmallMenu is still, as they say in England, "the dog's danglers". I haven't used the program menu for about 5 years, and for 4.5 of those I didn't have a PDA, and never missed it.

On a related note, have you seen my app VJOkButt?
