Audible Player memory leak with PPC2003

[originally posted on the x5 forum, but I think it is a WM 2003
issue]

I recently upgraded to PPC2003/WM2003, and I now find that
I cannot terminate the audibleplayer.exe process, so it always
hangs around.

Using wisbar/icbar/etc to stop the process only results in an
orphaned copy running in the background. The next time I launch
AudiblePlayer, I am actually starting an additional instance of the
application. Over time, I can actually get several copies running
and I have to soft-reset to recover RAM.

Has anyone else run into this since moving to the new 2003
OS on their Axim?

I acuually had the opposite experience. I was always having problems loading audio books, especially if i had several in flash memory. I had to reset almost every time I used audible. With 2003 the problems dissapeared.

Frustrations with Audible

I'm having many problems trying to use Audible. I have an x5 that will not open the Audible program because it says I don't have enough Program memory--even after soft reset! I'm not running anything else & only have used the x5 for sync-ing my calendar at work.

I recently added a CF card & was able to add an audiobook to it, but now I cannot play it.

How frustrating! Can anyone help?

Update 3/1/04:
I was just on help line with Audible & we tried a few things. Everything works just fine when I have the CF (SanDisk) removed & load the book to my SD Card instead. This points to a CF disk problem. Hmmm... I got the CF disk on e-bay the other day. Wonder whether I can get my money back . . .
