Wise to upgrade to wm 2003?
Is it wise to upgrade to wm2003? if I read the experience users who did upgrade have, resets, not working programs but it is more fast then PPC 2002.
I my case. I think my Axim X5 (A03) is rather slow compared to my Audiovox maestro(32MB EUU 4) so in that case it will help me. But I also like to keep my programs working.
What 's you opinion about this subject?
Peace,
Henk.

I thought the upgrade was definitely worth it. Programs respond better (ebooks open much faster), syncing with Activesync is also faster (15 min instead of an hour or more), and IE is much improved for web browsing. By now I think most programs have come out with a 2003 update. Check out the "programs working with 2003" thread and also check the websites for the programs you're most worried about.

Syncing takes you an hour?!? It takes me about 20 seconds!

Yeah thanks for your reply. My biggest problem could be that I have to downgrade!
Peace,
Henk.

I also thought the upgrade was worth it. I was worried going in, having also heard the horror stories from some members. But for me, at least, the upgrade process went smoothly, and my Axim's performance since has been greatly enhanced. I'm very pleased with WM2003.

Went well for me too... I have a more detailed post within another thread about my experience and some of the major and minor improvements I saw here and there in the OS.
There are listings online of what 3rd party apps work or don't work in WM2003, I would definitely recommend consulting one of those lists just to get an idea of where you would stand with the software you are using now. Aside from that, if most or all of your applications would be supported then I would say go for it. IE is much faster, Activesync is many times faster than before, and personally I haven't really experienced any of the problems users have been reporting. Just make sure that you follow the instructions very carefully.

I hope I will be satisfied too. At the moment I get an error that the launguage of my X5 isn't supported(A03, eng)
Inthe upper part of the update screen I don't see a language mentioned but I do in the lower part(wm2003 english)
What to do now?
Peace,
Henk.
