Active Sync Problem - Resource on Solution

Yay! New Axim and Activesync will not install an an XP latop. Of course, why would it? Makes far too much sense...

Anyway, it appears I'm not the only one (and if this thread is a repetition, sorry) who sees it hang at 91%.

It seems like its happening everywhere.

Of course, nothing really "universally" seems to solve the problem.

Has anyone any ideas?

have you tried to goto MS and redownload the newest version and try to install that. Also dont know which XP you are using make sure you have administrative rights. Since you are binding to communication ports it might need to have that.

Hi...i just installed the newest version 3.7.1 and it does seem like its hanging at 91% while its installing....you have to wait a few mins and it will finish on its on...take a walk or something..LOL

Yes....the hang in most cases resolves itself with a bit of time.

I'm going to take this seriously at some point, but am happy with version 3.5 right now. When I get some time, will try and re-do the 3.7.1 installation.,

Heres a question. Would you say any of this ever comes up in beta testing and products released nonetheless?

I have somewhat of an interest in consumer law here in Europe although its not really my specialty - but there has to be something for said for describing crashing apps as not of merchantable quality. (No "lemons" here in Europe).

Anyway, will get back if it works alright...just thought it might be helpful to draw anyones attention to that forum I posted earlier.
