Iomega Microdrive not working after upgrading to ppc2003
I just upgraded from ppc 2002 to ppc 2003 on my axim x5 advanced. Everything works great except, I can no longer use my Iomega (IBM) 340mg Microdrive anymore. When I insert the card my axim asks me if I want to format the card so the system can us it. When I say yes, it sometimes tells me the format failed and to reinsert the card. Then sometimes it says the format was successful, but then the card is still not seen by the system. Then when I reinsert the card it goes through the same routine.
Can anyone help? thank you

Have you tried to format it using your PC? You can do so using a PCMCIA to CF adaptor if you have a notebook, or a card reader with any other computer. Just insert the card, and right click then go down to format. You would want to format it to FAT32 instead of FAT. See if that helps.

I already tried that, along with just about everything else. I did a lot of research on the issue, and it appears that several other people have had the same issue. It looks like I'm going to have to deep six the microdrive and get a large capacity CF card.
If anyone knows a fix let me know. thanks.

You're only the second person I've seen saying they had a problem with a IBM microdrive. The magicstor drive's don't work, I wonder what the issue is because some of the IBM's seem to be working.

I have actually fixed the problem. I tried everything under the sun, so I figured the only thing left was a hard reset. So I did a backup and then did the hard reset. That was the answer.
