Pocket Money 2004

Is there anyway to get Pocket Money 2004 to work with PPC2003? I get an error message when I try to start the program. Something or other about data base libraries missing.
Any help would be appreciated. I couldn't find anything on Microsoft support. Maybe it's just not compatible.
TIA,
HF

I'd suggest uninstalling it via add/remove from your actrivesync window on your desktop and reinstalling. A quick search on the internet told me many people are using it with Pocket PC 2003, however all seemed to have complaints of one type or another :)

I'm getting confused

I've uninstalled and reinstalled about 4x. I have tried to get it to install in main memory but it insists on going to the sd card. I pulled the sd card and synced and low 'n behold, it shows the program being saved to the sd card. I have looked under "device" and I have sd card, sd card2, and built-in storage. Does the X5 have all these secret compartments? Cool!
Anyway I tried to delete sd2 but it won't let me. I can move the files or run them by tapping on the executable but I still can't run the program from the icon in Programs like it's supposed to. It can't find moneyce. BAH!
Thanks for your time,
HF

Hmm, perhaps you don't have enough storage space (allocated) to programs free on your Axim at the time of installation. I have never tried installing an application (with system32 dlls) onto an SD card, but I have successfully installed these types of applications on the Built-In Storage. You can check how much free space you have to install new apps by tapping START, SETTINGS, clicking the system tab, tapping MEMORY and seeing how many MB are free under the Storage summary. You should need ROUGHLY as much storage space in MB as the total size of Pocket Money 2004's setup files and folders are in MB. If you don't have enough storage space allocated, slide the slider bar over to the right until you do.

However, this allocation should be managed automatically unless you have tweaked your memory settings free space or have very little space free on your internal 64MB of primary storage space. Maybe Microsoft Money 2004 has separate PocketPC 2002 and PocketPC 2003 installations I would suggest ensuring you're running the right setup. Other than that, no idea... if I think of another possible reason your install keeps failing without any error messages I'll post again.

Space

It appears that I've got plenty of space left: 24megs of program, 22.5 of storage, 21.2 of built-in storage and 228.7 of sd2.
Does the Axim have a 21.3 meg flash card hidden in it somewhere? What's with the built-in storage?
Thanks for your time,
HF

If I am correct, the built in storage is part of the ROM not used by operating system.

Worried Therefore,

the left over rom is considered the sd card while my sd card is considered sd2? I seems to me that if that program installed in rom it would surely "be found". Maybe there's another way to install the program. Why am I the only one with this problem:crooked: ?
Thanks for your time,
HF

I think you are confused about the versions of Money for the PPC.

Money 2003 needs special installation instructions in order for it to work on a WM2003 PPC. You can find the information on aximsite ( http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...threadid=26058 )

However, Money 2004 will install directly by running the setup. :)

In my original post I state "Is there anyway to get Pocket Money 2004 to work with PPC2003?" The confusion is not in which version I have but why won't it install properly.
Intuitively, I'd say that a hard reset will cure this but I don't want to do that just yet.
thanks for your time,
HF

Fixed!

There was an extra copy of money on my computer located in the wrong spot. Everytime I would try to install it would go to the wrong place on the pda.
Thanks to everyone who tried,
HF
