Synchronization Troubles

Earlier today, my X3i had a little hiccup that looked a lot like a hard reset, but without losing all my data - just some. Including the owner info and device name. When I went to sync it, after giving it back its device name, active sync (on my primary computer) said that it couldn't allow it to sync as a device with that name already existed! Even though my secondary computer (at work) synced with it with no problems!! Any one out there have any ideas?

First, try Deleting your Partnership on your main PC:

While your Axim is not connected, Open ASync and go to :
File > Delete Partnership > YES > NO
and let it do it's thing, then Connect your Axim and see if it will let you Create a new Partneship with the ORIGINAL NAME.

If it doesn't, copy your "original name" folder in PC My Documents to your desktop (or somewhere you will remember where it is) and then navigate in your PC Explorer, to here:

C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\(your profile)\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Profiles\ (this is in WIN98SE).

and delete your Axim's Original Name....you will probably lose your synced files (up to this date), but you will then be able to create a new partnership using your old axim name and then repopulate it with the files you saved to your desktop (or wherever).

Woohoo!!!!!! It works. And by the way, the path for XP users is: c:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Profiles\ . Thanks again for your help.
