Upgrading to PPC 2003

I'm very intrested in upgrading to PPC 2003, especially for the improved Wi-Fi capabilities. However, I've noticed that many people have complained about compatibility issues with certain programs. Do most programs for PPC 2002 work with 2003, such as AIM, Pocket Quake, Wisbar Advance, etc?

I can't speak specifically for the programs you mentioned, but I have not had a problem with any that I have installed. Most popular programs are compatible or they have upgraded. All new programs will be written for 2003, of course. So it will be to your advantage to have the new OS to run the new programs.

It's been my experience that most of the '03 issues have been with drivers and utilities. Most of the regular apps have not been a problem.

Are you using ICBar? There is a bug wit that. It won't shut down ICBar an only does a reset and doesn't backup. If you close ICBar it works fine. I think they are working on a fix.

no this isnt the case
became real close to the developers on this when it didnt work and started to email them back and forth. finally they relized it only had to do with the upgrades. the problem lies so deep inm the upgrades code that they can't really fix it without a hole lot of time and effort blowing things out of the water for the software to work. they are still working on it and may eventually find a work around but by that time windows longhorn and CE 5 may be out and running hahahaha

Mad Mobile phone,Bluetooth,GPRS and VPN

I have bought a number of Axim X5 with ppc 2003 for our company. The OS works ok regarding programs and new features. Unfortually it dont work with Bluetooth GPRS and VPN.
We use Certicom Movian VPN client to log on to our network over a Nokia phone with GPRS. This works fine on a ppc 2002 but not on ppc 2003. The first move i took on resolving this was to contact Certicom in US. They actually belived that the fault was located in their software and they are releasing a new version in march. Then i tried to use the built in p2tp vpn client, that one did not work either.. i even tried the pptp, same result. I have been in contact with Dell, HP and Microsoft and no one seem to have tested this. So no solution at all. What to do? Next step was finding a solution to change OS from ppc 2003 to 2002. The problem is that there is none. The answer i have from all vendors is that it´s not possible to change OS when a ppc 2003 is pre installed. I have been looking at bootblaster and Linux, trying to get a hint if it was possible to boot the PDA from a CF or SD card, but no luck. So guy i guess it´s up to you, any solutions out in the wilderness?
