Axim V keeps asking for a modem!
Hi,

This problem started after I upgraded the axim to windows mobile 2003. I normally activesync over wireless network.

Whenever I do not have the Wi-Fi card in the Compact Flash slot
axim repeatedly displays the message -

"Unable to connect: You have no modem enteries created, and no
network card present."

Message keeps appearing once every 30 seconds or so. That
is creating a major problem in using the axim at work where I do
not have the Wi-Fi card but the Compact Flash card in the slot. The message also keeps recurring even when the compact flash
slot is empty.

Has any one run into this problem? Any solutions?
Many thanks for your help

Sanjay

What are your Internet Connection Settings set to?

You may need to change them, dpending on where you are connecting, at the time.

It is not at all intuitive and you may need to tweak them.

In ActiveSync on the Axim (while not connected), select Tools, Options, Mobile Schedule (tab) and set both to Manually.

If you have an account setup in the Inbox, you may also need to change the email download schedule or simply set it on the ActiveSync account before you exit.

It is most likely your email setting trying to connect. Change the setting to manual .
