I have Money 2002 on my desktop and Pocket PC version 2003 on my Axim. So I had a problem. If you have the same problem, follow these steps and you should be able to sync with the older version of Money.

Requirements:

You need these two versions of Money for the Pocket PC

ver. 2002 available at -

ver. 2004 available at -

Steps:

1 - Install version 2004. You'll get a message something to the effect that Money is not installed on the desktop and you won't be able to sync account data. Just go through the motions and finish the install. Money will not show up in the Activesync options.

2 - Install version 2002. The Pocket PC may ask you if you want to delete various account info. This is fine, click OK. You'll also get an error message stating that this version is only for Pocket PC 2002. Click OK. Money will now show as an option in Activesync.

Sync away!

Step one installs Money to the Pocket PC and step two tricks Activesync to bridge the gap.

This may work for other versions of Money also, but no promises.

I'm trying your idea with a desktop version of Money Deluxe 2003. (I had tried the Spikes method, which worked well, except that I couldn't do the install onto my storage card, which is what I want.)

The problem is that the link for Money for Pocket PC 2002 is no longer working. It now directs you to the 2004 or 2003 version. Any ideas where I can get the older one?

2. Install Money 2003 but don't reinstall on the handheld.


Just installed WM2003 a week ago.
Very upset at Microsoft for not allowing PPC Money 2004 to work with Desktop Money 2003. Glad I found these threads. The above solution worked fine for my Axim and Desktop Money for Small Business.
