Couldn't Remove the Following Progs:

The following programs are pre-installed in WM2K3 by Microsoft/Dell:
ActiveSync; Calculator; Calendar; Contacts; Data Backup; File Explorer; Jawbreaker; Solitaire; Poutlook/Inbox; Internet Explorer; Notes; Pictures; Pocket Excel; Pocket MSN; Pocket Word; WinMedia; Switcher Bar (add if I missed some more).

How many of us really use these progs/applets? Wouldn't it be wonderful if there is patch to remove them from ROM? How many megabytes could we reclaim to run our other programs! How I wish the gods will put them in CD and let us pick what to install. As I type, I would only retain the following if I'd my way:

ActiveSync
Solitaire
Pictures
Pocket Excel

I only would because I'd not installed equivalent or better applications. They're adequate right now. What would you retain?

I fully agree - but it cannot be done. I would also delete Pocket Excel and use SpreadCE - a vastly superior spreadsheet program.

I completely agree with you. Hopefully sometime this year when PPC 2004 is released that option would be available. I would definitely update to 2004 then...

I doubt it, as that would be allowing you to physically alter the ROM image via the software. I don't envision MS allowing that to be a feature.

No, we don't want 'em in ROM, we wan't 'em in a companion CD - install 'em if you like or need to. That's the option we like. Oh well, it's just wishfull thinking!
