Looking for 1st PDA and have Pocket Office Questions
Our company in looking to get into PDAs. We are trying to decide between Dell and Palm. The main concerns now are software. The users would like the capability to create and edit MS Word/Excel documents and then transfer them back and forth between their computer and the PDA.
According to Palm, MS Pocket Word/Excel do not save the format when synchronizing the PDA and the computer. Is this true? One of the users will be creating/editing many documents on her PDA and formatting is a big concern. How would you rate the Microsoft Pocket Word/Excel and what kinds of things should I be aware of? I think as far as hardware I am set on Dell but I need to figure out the software part before I buy. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. | |||

It works pretty well, but keep in mind it really doesn't work with highly formatted documents. A .doc file will copy over and the text will be saved, but some of the fonts, tables, and other features will not.

Yeah - I agree with Cagey....I particularly find that pocket excel doesn't hold the same looks as the full PC version. Now that might just be more about the way I use and make spreadsheets doc's....coz some I've used have been fine
