Help with Installing Mobile 2003
Can anyone direct me to a resource with the proper install procedure to upgrade from Pocket PC 2002 to Mobile 2003. I have the disk from Dell®, but I have heard some chat about some of the caveats that, if known about in advance, could help with a seamless install. Can anyone help?
[I have an X5/48/64 with SD256, CF128]
Thank you,
Dgaspar

I would reboot your computer, turn off any firewall and virus scan. Take a deep breath, put in the disk and follow the directions. It is self-explanatory. Make sure any data in Outlook is up to date and ActiveSync is working properly. You can reload data and any third party programs from ActiveSync after the upgrade easily if everything is working and up to date. You will need ActiveSync 3.7 (preferably 3.7.1) for WM 2003. If you don't have it, get it from Microsoft site before hand. Good luck. Most upgrades go smoothly.

The most important thing is the backup from PPC2002 and restore to WM2003 does not work, as stated on the CD. So I used Sprite Backup to do a backup of everything including programs, Appointments, Contacts,... and other documents and data. I then (re)installed every single application onto WM2003 and only restored the data.
