OK, I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to WM2003 from my old PPC2002 and I have a problem. I know I have to run a data conversion routine that I downloaded from Microsoft but when I run it, it says my device IS NOT a 2003 device....and I know it IS. How can I check on the Dell X5 that indeed I do have 2003 successfully installed and how do I convinve Microsoft of that fact?
Thanks, Dave W. | ||||

Look in Settings--System--System Info. If you find ROM version A05, you have WM 2003. Sorry, I don't know about the data conversion routine you are talking about.

Thanks Nancy
I do have A05 so I do suppose I am fully upgraded just that the MS database conversion wizard says my device is not a Windows Mobile 2003 device
![]() As a sideline, hows Tulsa these days? I remember Admiral and Mingo as I once lived in an apartment while going to a school at the airport. Cheers, Dave

curious, why do you have to run a 'database conversion wizard'? I upgraded my Axim X5 from PPC2002 to WM2003 and I never had to do any conversions.
I just re-sync'd after completing the upgrade and everything worked fine. --nomad

Dave,
Nice to hear from someone who knows Tulsa. The airport is still busy with pilot training and American Airlines maintenance. Tulsa just found out they are going to keep a big portion of the aircraft maintenance. That is a good thing! Have you resolved your issue with the data conversion? I didn't have to do anything like that either. You must have something in particular that needs converted. Good luck! Nancy

Your existing PPC2002 .cdb files will not open with a database program in WM2003 - I use SprintDB Pro - and it will tell me so. You need to be connected via Activesync. In AS, do a Tools | Import Database Tables ... A popup will ask for the location of the Access .mdb file on your PC. After that it will ask for the location to convert on your PPC, which tables, and sync or no sync. You should now be able to open the new .cdb file.
