PocketWin 1.9 (fully WM2003 compatible!) to be released

For those of you waiting for the 1.9 release you'll be happy to hear it's about to happen today or tomorrow. Here's the email I got from FP|8:

Dear Bill,
You're just in time! The 1.9 is going to be released today (or tomorrow at most). Right now our task is to compile new text and updates for the website before we upload the release. The demo version is also being created now, it will be fully-functional, but time limited. Watch PocketGear and Handango websites for update.

Thank you for your interest in PocketWin!
Best Regards,
FP|8 Team.

Hello Bill,

It seems like the release was re-scheduled again. But do not worry, it should be out anytime now.

Best Regards,
FP|8 Team.

Finally released today (the 14th), 5 days after it was supposed to be. I have installed it but when I run it, all I get is a white screen :( I've been waiting for a minute or two for things to load but nothing.

Do you have Flash Player 6 installed? I'm getting the 1.9 demo right now, will let you know how it goes.

Yes, I had Flash Player 6 installed. Reinstalled PW a few times, reinstalled FP, nothing worked.

Did a full backup, hard reset, full restore, works now. How weird is that? But all that matters is it works! And what a beautiful program it is!

I just installed, got the white screen for like 2 seconds then it loaded. I'm checking it out now, looks very cool.

Slow for me also. Not bad though considering the fact that you are running a fullscreen flash program with a 400MHz processor.

Ya running slow for me too, just a slight delay. None of the icons are set either. Looks like more of a hassal then it is worth. Coo concept though.

Isn't that the case with all .NET based apps?

Peace,
Henk.
