WM2003 and Hotmail

Is there any way I can link my hotmail account to the mail utility on my x5?

If you are using Outlook 2002, you can configure your Hotmail account onto it. You can then access Hotmail on your Axim by syncing. (BTW, you can also access Hotmail from the Internet on your Axim.)

No, you can't transfer the hotmail files to your axim. Microsoft has it set up so you can't. Outlook doesn't actually download your mail from a hotmail server, it just gives you a different look at the hotmail site. The best you could do is automatically forward your mail from hotmail to a POP account and then bring it in with outlook.

I don't think that's quite the best one can do. there are 3rd party applications that allow you to hook up to hotmail directly with the mail application on your axim. httpmail is one such example.

You can call MSN and have them migrate your account to the POP3 server. I did this but...I have an MSN account thus no questions...they told me several times that the POP server was decommisioned but the level three tech said he would do it and within 24 hours had the POP migrated.

An app was built for yahoo mail to simulate a pop3 account. It's called YahooPOPs It works great with outlook. And it's free. :)

I use HTTPMail and it works fine for retrieval of Hotmail email. HTTPMail is $5 and you can get it from PocketGear. Since I am still using Outlook 2000 I use Hotmail Popper as well. This app allows me to use Outlook to retrieve my Hotmail right to my inbox. Then it can sync to my PPC.
