I upgraded to Pocket PC 2003 and now cannot synch my Axim X5 with my laptop via the IR port--which I was able to do prior to upgrading. I have talked to the Dell support staff and they say I must do a hard reset, which I do not want to do and lose the programs and data I have installed. Any thoughts?

Back it up to your computer via a usb cable or to a cf card using the built in backup utility or another backup utility. Then do a hard reset. If it still wont work, they will probably tell you they are sending you a new (refurb but good as new) axim. If this happens, well you get an axim to load your backup onto that has no wear and tear (hope for this but it might not happen, it did for me though a couple times for things as stupid as this). Anyway, thats my $.02
