Transferring .pdf files
ActiveSync does not seem to be capable of converting .pdf files into something that is readable on my X30. Is there a converter available?

No conversion needed...just copy the file over w/ file explorer and use acrobat pdf reader for ppc.

Another option would be to reinstall (assuming you installed it in the first place) acrobat for ppc, available for free from Adobe. Here is the link:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

When you install it a converter is set up to convert the pdf files. I do this all the time, I'm constantly reading books in pdf. To use the converter, you must open up explorer and open up the mobile device and folder where you want to put it. Drag and drop it there and it will convert.
