You sure about that? By the same logic Dell might learn from their "mistake".

I'm with cagey here. Dear lord, they don't offer an SE upgrade, and now people are threatening them by not buying anymore products, and that they're going to tell their friends, family, and clients not to buy Dell? For what? They never said they would offer the upgrade in the first place? I don't really see the big deal, we don't have landscape and a couple other small features, so frickin' what!!! I am disappointed, but not bitter or angry. If Dell comes out with another PDA that I really like and has the features and price tag to go along with it, I'll get it. If I find something that suits my needs better from another vendor, I'll get it! I think all the "high chair banging" and "breath holding" by some folks is getting plain out rediculous. I'm really more venting, and not commenting on any other posts in this thread, or even on this forum. But I've seen some really childish posts, and I'm just getting sick of it. Someone said they put their X3 on ebay when they heard the news, come on, grow up!!!

So you just accept whatever they throw at you? They are just leading you by the nose.
And, by the way, they DID say there would be an upgrade. You already forgot? That's why the petition thread at the Dell forum was closed, saying "it has achieved its goal". They lied.

Please show me where they said there would be an upgrade.
The only word we have ever received on Aximsite was...

I received another email from Dell that promted me to call back. basicly, Dell strives to be a customer oriented company. That said, Dell is not standing firm on the initial statement. What does that mean? Not 100% sure, but my guess would be that Dell would rethink their stategy here with feedback from the customer.
|
Doesn't say they will. All they said is they would rethink the statement that they would not. Don't distort the truth for your own ends. This is how people get spun up about rumors.

You don't read the Dell forums?
There was a huge petition thread which was closed after Dell-Rollie came back with the following post:
"All,
I told you that I would post as soon as I had any information. Unfortunately, I do not have much.
I have been told that Dell will be offering a Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition upgrade for existing Axims.
Now, here come the qualifiers. I have not been told when the upgrade will be available, what the cost will be, who will qualify if there is a free upgrade, what models will be included in the upgrade, or how the upgrade will be made available. I have been told that we will be offering the upgrade, everything else is still to be decided.
Dell has listened to its customers. Please stay tuned for additional details."
This was received with great satisfaction and Dell-Rollie locked it, saying that it had served its purpose.

That isn't an official source.
Again, show me where Dell has said so. Don't quote Dell-Rollie. That isn't a source.

yes it is. It was Dell-Rollie who said that the earlier news had not been an official source.

No he is not. That is a support forum, not a news forum. The FACT is Dell never said it was going to be released. There is a reason why Aximsite never wrote about it. Dell-Rollie is so far away from the news that he never knows what is going on. Chris only posts the news that is official. You were mislead by the support people. Just as with those who think an Axim is going to be released this month because a CSR told them, don't believe anything you read on the support forum. Dell didn't lie, Dell-Rollie was wrong.

No, I didn't forget, but I don't consider that post "Dell" saying they would offer an upgrade, it could have been error on his part. But you know what, I really don't care. I am perfectly happy with my Axim the way it is, they are not leading me around by the nose in any form. You can go on pouting about terrible Dell is, wah wah wah.
As far as the Dell Rollie thing, THEY or HE!!!!!
Quit your frickin cryin'

Well beyond that, from the Terms of Service on the Community Forums...

Hence, whatever Dell-Rollie says is irrelevant...

This is what Dell-Rollie repeatedly said:
An unnamed "Dell source" was quoted in an internet article. Dell made no official statement concerning the availability of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition as an upgrade. A petition was started on the forum, and may have had a part in Dell's decision to offer the upgrade.
And don't tell me that "he was far away from the news". He specifically contacted responsible Dell officials about this matter and he was specifically authorized by them to convey the message to the forums. This is no less official than Aximsite's information. BTW Aximsite still didn't name the person at Dell the info has come from. I can't consider that more official than Rollie's responses on Dell's own web site.

and of course Aximsite is a third party. You can believe what you want about Chris and his contacts, but let me tell you they are with those who know about Axims. Face it, you were fooling into thinking there would be a moderator because you were not informed about the source of the information. Frankly no one feels the least bit sorry for you.

Sorry, I can't follow you.
But it's wierd how you are trying to make an effort to defend Dell when they obviously deceived their customers.
