Cant send mail via pocket outlook
Hi,
I have set up my x30 to receive mail from both accounts I use. However, I cant get smtp to work (comcast). It works with the desktop machine and I have duplicated the settings exactly. The problem occurs whether I am using wifi or in the cradle using usb. Anyone experience this? Is there any way to see a more detailed error message when I get a send fail? It just says "cant send, check your settings and try again." Regards, Artuk

No.. my settings are exactly that of a pc on the same network that does not require smtp authentication. This is good since I dont actually use comcast from my email.. just to send mail since I am on their network.

This may help!
I've had similar problems but with aol. However it was necessary to change my outgoing mail, (smtp) to port 587. This still didn't correct my problem but what fixed it was a suggestion from a site member offering a site name that has free downloads to be able to send emails from, it's called a smtp manager. Now my outgoing mail is Smtp.aol.com:587.
The address is: Http://www.Kelbran.com/products/SmtpMgr.html The fight with that was only for a few minutes and now I'm up and running. (Being a computer novice that in itself is a miracle.) It's so sweet!!! Good luck!! Susan46

Thanks, I will look into that.
I am hoping to get set up with an exchange account with my old employer once they get set up for microsoft's vpn in addition to the cisco vpn they use now. That will solve all my problems since I will be using imapi and tunneling to the same mail pop and smtp every time. I will have one set of mailboxes for all my computers. If that doesnt work I am considering setting up my own private linux smtp server at home that I can connect to when I am on the road. Until then.. I suffer. I am not sure what port comcast uses.. I would be very surprised if it was not 25 since it works unmodified with my pc. Thats what has me baffled.. my PC works fine "as is" and is using the same account settings. This weekend I will work on it again and will post a solution if I find one. Its will be handy to send of quick notes to my friends without having to turn on my main comp.. Regards, Artuk

I used npopw on KPDUTY's recommendation and it works as-is with no extra tweaks.
I think comcast detects pocket outlook and forces user/pass. Whatever the reason, it seems to be a better email client if a little less untuitive so I will just use that. Regards, Artuk EDIT: This program is crashing on my larger email list despite being stored on my storage card.. so it looks like I am still looking. This is becoming quite frustrating.
