Anyone know of pop3 that WON'T erase ?
Hey everyone.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good pop3 program that will allow multiple accounts and WON'T erase the copy on the server. The current one in outlook allows pop3, but once erased, will not allow the option to leave on the server. Anyone know of this? Thanks

nPOPw is great. Choose whether or not to delete from the server. Lots of options. Free. The latest beta, also linked on that page, works better. Not perfect, but I like it.

There may be some email providers which remove email from the server when you download it once. My new ISP, Telus, claims to do this in their printed materials, saying that once downloaded the mail is deleted to 'give the user more online storage space.' Well, whatever. I just checked, and though I've downloaded my Telus mail it still appears on their webmail list. Perhaps if I used Outlook Express it would be gone? I've no idea and don't care, as I use nPOPw.

Great!!!!
I'll have to give it a run. I am certain it isn't the server. Usually outlook is the culprit for deleted. You must always choose "leave copy on server" and the pocket pc version didn't have this. So I will test out nPOPw. Thanks for an exact match of my needs!!!!

I have run up to 5 email accounts in nPOPw, so it should satisfy that part of your requirement as well. Try to have a good look at the FAQ pages for this app, as one can do a lot of tweaking to make it even better with changes to the INI file.

I did'nt read the above, but most mail accounts let you leave the mail on the server (so many day, or remove it when you delete mail on your client). look under the Account Properties.
That way you can access mail from muliple computers, and get ALL you mail, no matter which is connected. I believe the X30 can do this too. Mark.

So overall, I think they deleted. If someone else can give this a quick test that would be great. For now I plan to see what this new pop3 program has to offer ![]()

No, that's exactly how it works. If you delete them and then empty your trash, that is the signal to the POP3 account to delete them. If you simply leave them in your in box they will not be deleted.
You can set the account to download only a certain number of days of mail. For example, if you set the Axim InBox app to download only two days of mail, on the third day it will only download and display the messages from the last two days, but the messages from three days ago will be retained on the POP3 server.
