Question PC 2003 Speed Issuess

I know I am way behind the times, but I am having problems finding an answer. A Loonnnnng time ago I got WIN PC2003 from Dell and installed it (back in Sept 2003). After that my applications ran much slower than with the earlier OS. It was to the point that the Axim was put into a drawer and forgotten until recently. I am know trying to find out if the issue has been fixed and how. From the Dell website I can't find any downloads to help. Can anyone help a guy behind the times with this?

Thanks in advance

Hmm... if you are lucky you can try to restore your old PPC 2002 rom and be happy again...

Other than that, I dont think there is much you can do... there werent any patches that I can recall that would fix their problems.

My personal experience was that most things ran better and more stable. I haven't had to soft reset for a long time and haven't hard reset since the upgrade. Maybe you could try re-installing the upgrade again.

What is your ROM version? If it is A01 then you have the buggy ROM that was initially released. Dell released a new, fixed ROM a few weeks later. The latest ROM version is A05.

Wasn't A04 the buggy WM2003 build?

There was a WM2003 A04 that was the buggy one and A04 for 2002 (good naming Dell) that turned on the 200MHz FSB on the X5 Adv.

You're right, I think A04 was the buggy one.
