Is it possible to transfer or extract second edition from an X30 to put on an X3i without second edition? I'm new to mobile software and am a little unclear as to whether the operating system needs to be flashed (ROM) or what... I imagine it is not possible as I haven't seen any threads on it... Help?

It would mean flashing the ROM and I don't know if it could work. However, it would be considered hacking/cracking/warez/illegal/whatever and discussing this is not allowed on this website.
