PPTP VPN and Terminal Services Issue

I just got an Axim X30 last weekend, and I am having an issue using terminal services over a VPN connection. I can connect to my wireless network, and then connect to my office's VPN (cisco firewall using PPTP). Once connected, I can not terminal service to any of the PCs on the network (using name or IP). I downloaded pocket ping, and I can't even ping computers over the VPN. I also tried specifying the DNS and WINS servers in the VPN connection rather than having DHCP do it, and that still does not fix the problem.

The Dell Technical support in India has been no help at all. I have called 3 times, and they just do not understand the issue. All they do is read me some script about how to connect the Axim to the internet! Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

You may want to make sure that you can actually ping a website (internal or otherwise) while you are connected via vpn - Just to validate that the VPN actually works. I've had similar problems with connecting to my own VPN/Corp network. I can hit the wireless network, but the VPN connection never happens. So, I just sit in limbo (though, that's not much different than any other day. )

Our VPN does not allow an internet passthrough, so pings to websites will fail. I tried pinging servers that normally work when I VPN through my XP box over the VPN, and get no replies. I tried pinging by name and ip, both with the same results. OUr firewall is set up to email me whenever a VPN connection is made in the office, and I am receiving the emails, so I know i am connected, I just can't access anything on it. Also, it always drops. Is there a way to make is stop dropping and let me decide when I want to be connected to the VPN? The auto connect/disconnect feature is REALLY ANNOYING!

Can you ping the PDA from other servers on the VPN? Is the VPN setup to use DHCP or perhaps you have to let the admin know you need to add another host.

Big name VPN/RAS

We're using a Win2000 server as a VPN/RAS server for our WiFi clients and it just drops out. At least several timesa a day, no matter of the client is an XP box, W2K box, PPC handheld, or whatever. I assume it's either a network card problem with the server (which is based on a workstation not server-grade) or else it's a problem with the Windows PPTP. Now that I've heard your story I assume it's the latter.

And I can't even get the X30 to establish a VPN connection so you're miles ahead of me... %)
