Ghost in the machine...

Sometimes, when my AXIM sits in its cradle, the Start menu pops down. This has also happened in the Seidio 2500 cradle in the car as well. It happened when the unit was at ROM A01 and happens now at A02. Why is that? Is this supposed to happen? It's somewhat irritating when I'm in the car and the start menu covers a map...

Is it possible that you have a screen protecter on it? Ive had this happen to my x5 sometimes. I made my own screen protecters(Yes to save $20) and the screen protecter was somewhat under the screen. So the lightest touch to the case would pop up with the start menu.

yeah i have something like this, like randomly when i turn it on it will ask if i want to format my sd card... which i definatley dont!!!!!

nope, no screen protector. i'm trying to remember whether or not it's happened outside of a cradle but i'm not sure. i'll keep watching...

OK, this has gotten OUT OF HAND. i can't do a single thing with this stupid piece of equipment. how can i solve this issue? i do a soft reset of the AXIM. i've done hard resets. is it time to call DELL? is it hardware related? is it software related? ugh.

It's possible it's hardware related. Try using dell's online support. It beats a phone call to dell.

i was having a problem where whenever i opened something like the dell lan utlity it would close automatically... weird huh?

Well the verdict is in... It's not a known issue according to the tech support guy I spoke with. They're sending me a refurbished model as we speak...
