I have also had the same experience. At first I thought that maybe the mobile version of Win Media Player was not capable of streaming from a http website but then I was successfully able to stream from a site called http://windowsmediamobile.theplatform.com/
I think it may have to do with how the hyperlink to the video is set up on the web page. I myself have a website www.Videoshowcase.Net and I cannot stream my own videos on my Axim from my site. Of couse it streams fine from my desktop.
I would like to learn the proper procedure for hyperlinking my videos so they will stream to any handheld PC using the mobile version of Windows Media Player.
Any help woud be appreciated.
Thanks.

I stream videos from my hosted website www.videoshowcase.net not from my desktop. I'm sorry, I don't know what "ooc" is.
