To my knowledge, which is fairly extensive as I have followed most PPC news & tech over the past 4 years, no PPC has ever been able to run a CD drive. external hard drives, sure, there are a few ways to use those with some models of PPC. But not CD drives.

i dont know if anyone has tried, the usb mass storage driver might work, but i would also think that there would be Generic USB CDrom drivers out there, you would have to find a way to power it though as there is no way the axim could power it on its own

Funny thing; just yesterday while trying to fix my Inbox problem with WM2003 (with this OS I just can't seem to send or receive attachments in Inbox at all - thank goodness for nPOPw!) I stumbled across some CD-related junk in my new registry. Have a look at these. Weird.

there might be one way using Pocket Lan i have tested this yet but should work.. Try on you network setting up cd rom as shared which can be done. Once you have that ready then go into pocket lan go computer you have the shared drive on should show up in shared folder list for that computer in pocket lan on you ppc. i will try this when i have time i think it would work only draw back would only be able to access files nothing else..
Another go idea is would be to use pocket vnc. which would give a little more control. just idead i think would work.. worth a try | |||
