Start Menu Recent Programs

Anyone know a way to force the start menu not to keep track of recent programs all together?

Don't know of way to disable the list of recently used programs, but the freeware program found in my signature allows you to selectively remove unwanted items from the list.

Does anyone know of a book that goes into more detail on WM2003SE? I am looking for one. There are a lot of things I would like to learn about the system that the Dell book just doesn't go into detail on.

I followed the link above to the other post - http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=56580. Courtesy of MKREdit, the registry key is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/microsoft/shell/taskswitch
I deleted not just the Registry values, but the entire keys. Although there is still a Recent Programs heading on the Start Menu, it isn't listing any programs.

The registry keys are numbered 0 through 9. If you want to limit the number of recent programs displayed rather than permanently wipe them all out, just delete some of the keys.

For example:
If you want only four recent programs listed, delete keys 4 through 9 and keep 0 through 3.

McGraw Hill publishes a Pocket PC book titled: "How to Do Everything with Your Pocket PC." You can get a PDF of the book. I haven't looked at it much, but it's 500 pages, so it may be helpful to some.

Please clarify, are you saying this is a permanent way to disable tracking of recently used programs? Have you executed any programs since deleting the keys? Because if you do, the Recent Programs History should be restored; at least it is on my W2k3 device.

Ooops. I got a little excited too soon.
I was testing the idea by launching programs from a launcher (Battery Pack) rather than using Start -> Programs. It's interesting though that the Recent Programs on the Start Menu only compiles itself from programs launched from the Programs folder on the Start Menu. Perhpas someone more knowledgable than me with the PPC can quickly figure out how to prevent this.
In the mean time, I'm going to experiment further.

Wisbar Advance 2 gives you an option to show or not show Recent on your start menu. X

I used Wisbar Advanced 2 for a while, but it seemed to crash my Axim too often. I find the task manager in Battery Pack not to cause any problems. Although it doesn't allow you to disable the Recent Programs on the Start Menu.
