Showing categories on the calendar

Hello all,

I have just changed to PPC from Palm and although I am pretty satisfied with the change, there is something I miss.

In the Palm, you can assign colors to the Categories and they would show in the different calendar views, but I have not been able to do it in the PPC, only some limited "coloring" using the "out of oficce", "free", etc items (not sure of the translation as my software is in Spanish).

Do you know if it is possible to do something like that in WM2003 SE, or by using some add-on software.

TIA,

Alvaro

The calendar that comes with WM is pretty limited. For more features, many people use Pocket Informant or Agenda Fusion. There are trials available for both. Sorry, I cannot provide a link as I'm on mobile, but you should have no problems with a Google search.

BTW, welcome to Aximsite!

Thanks, I've just downloaded both trial versions and I will check them. Anyhow, if some has already done this "evaluation" it would sure help to know their opinion.

Thanks

Welcome to the site -

As the PIM functions are one of the most widely used on a PDA you will find that there are large number of users of both on this site and every now and then they post their thoughts about one or the other (or both)

Do a search on this site for the following:
- Pocket Informant
- PocketInformant
- PI
- Agenda Fusion
- AgendaFusion
- AF

And you will get enough reading to keep you happy until Christmas -

BTW - they are both excellent and most of the time it comes down to personal choice (or even which one you try first!).
Regards

Rob

Any comments about PocketBreeze?
If you get dead silence after breaking the speed of sound, would you be in the darkness after passing the speed of light?

What do you mean, Frenchy? Are you asking for yourself or for the thread starter? He/she did not specifically mention a Today plugin.

urecha, also check out PocketBreeze it is a today screen plug-in that allows you to completely customise how you display you appointments etc (I use it conjunction with PI) and it is excellent.

There is a link to the software in my MyPDA.

Gigi, I just made a "quantum leap" and understand the differences between both the Today screen plugin and PIM to replace the included OS one. I should have made the link but never did. Maybe the medication taken for my tooth problem for the last three weeks have something to do with this.

Just to tell you that I installed the trial of Agenda Fusion and I like it very much. The only thing would be to be able to access the Messages from the AF today view, is this possible? Would I need a Today plugin like it was said above?
Thanks

Just install a purchased copy of Informant. Good software so far. Does the experienced users have something to share about it?

As an avid user of PI my recommendation is to print out the manual - open a bottle of wine - and sit down with your PPC and go through the manual - when I did that I learnt there were so many things that I hadn't even thought about doing that have now become an indispensable part of my working life.

FYI, you might check out DaskToday from www.snoopsoft.com. Dashboard is an excellent Today Replacement and give you access to Agenda, Tasks, Emails, etc from the today screen.

DashToday Plugins are individual plugins for each Dashboard Area that plugin to the Today screen and work very well, even on VGA devices. DashToday doesn't require Dashboard either, they are separate products.
