how do i turn off the annoying touchscreen tap noises like the noise when you tap the start button

i want sound when i have reminders and i want sound when i play movies and music but i do not want sound any other time



any idea?

Tap Start | Settings | Sounds & Notifications then un-check the Screen Taps box. Pretty basic stuff. Sounds like you need to have a look through your settins applets in general, get used to all the adjustments you can make. Lots of options in there.

ive looked through every setting already
screen taps are NOT on

If there's no Settings applet called what I called it above... or if there's no checkbox for un-checking screen taps... or if un-checking screen taps there doesn't shut off the screen-tap noise... you are doomed. All hope is lost. A hard reset awaits you. Hope you don't lose anything important, like files, or a lot of time. Ain't PPCs fun?!
