If you really want to do the work on your computer, you'll probably either have to pay for a $$$ editor that does fix this problem(if such really does exist). Or you could always download MS's PPC emulators and run TKCreater through one of them to tweak the themes.

Honestly, if you can find another good free app that does fix this without going to the Reg tweak directly, and runs on the computer, please share it with us. Until then, I'll stick with TKCreater when I need to deal with this issue.

Because some of us are control freaks and don't need a whole program to change one setting on the device. Besides, the RegTweak overrides the theme setting without having to edit the theme.

If you really want to edit your themes on your PC, have a look at ThemeBuilder2003 (see the last link in riggits post above). It is not so much a program as it is a guide to editing Today Themes.
