Are you logged in as an Administrator? If you are, use browse to navigate to the setup.exe on the disk.

A couple other things to try?

1. Disable popup stopper and antivirus.
2. Close down any MS products such as Outlook.

For what ever reason, they make it impossible to install ActiveSync directly from the CD...using their menus. With both Dell and iPAQ, I have never been able to install ActiveSync directly from the CD.

What you have to do is insert your CD, don't pay attention to their menus...then open Windows Explorer and go to your CD Drive. Under the following menu: E:\MS\ACTSYNC\MAIN

you will find a file with the name IS_SETUP.EXE...and it is that file that you simply double click on, and that will install ActiveSync.
