Running multiple programs in the background
Hi all!

I'm planning on getting an axim x50v within the next week or so and I was wondering if WM2003SE supports running programs in the background? For example, I use IRC to keep in touch with people while I'm on the road. Would I be able to run an IRC client, then run a web browser and stay connected to IRC in the background, then go back to my IRC client?

I realize this may seem trivial (because I think it is possible from what I've read), but I'm a long-time PalmOS user and this is one of the things that's been annoying me. I've been waiting for a PalmOS Cobalt system to come out, but manufacturers are dragging their feet on this issue. That's why I'm jumping ship to PPC.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Yes, you can have multiple programs running at once. The only downside is that they take up RAM and eventually you will need to close something. Having an IRC client and web browser open at the same time shouldn't be a problem at all.

I've had Windows Media Player streaming content while Pocket Internet Explorer was running and I have been able to do this over a bluetooth gprs connection. Your scenario is not that much different.

Yeap, you'll be fine. I have an x30 mid (with xcpuscalar mind you) and often listen to internet radio over wifi while playing with my PIM info, surfing the net, using it as a calculator etc etc.
