How do you delelet a connection

that is found is Settings, Connections? I have 2 AvantGo Connect icons showing. Both are empty. I have removed Avantgo since the newest version will not work.

You wouldn't be removing a connection just an orphaned icon. Use File Explorer on your device to navigate to tge Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder and hold down your stylus on the offending icons. Then choose delete from the popup menu.

No icon there. If I use my PC to explore my X5, I find 2 files in the Windows directory named avantgocfg.0 avantgocfg.1 but I can not delete them. get message "the file may be in read-only memory, ... or currently in use by another application."

File explorer in X5 does not see these 2.

This might work then using your PC rename the extensions of the files to .old and try to remove them after doing that. You can't really remove the avantgo that was preinstalled on your device. This should work until you do a hard reset though.

Did not work, I guess I will not be able to remove them until I do a hard reset. Thanks for the help.

I tried... Here's an oldie but a goodie; Reinstall the new Avantgo and use a program called remover by SK to delete it. remover is way more powerful than Remove Programs in Settings. Do a backup first though, remover really removes stuff so be careful what you say OK to.

Still no go, I guess I will have to do a hard reset if I want to get rid of it.
