Bluetooth in XP SP2
I just updated to XP SP2. I have an Ultra BT dongle and have removed the proprietary driver and utility. Having done this, I cannot seem to make the Windows utility work with Active Sync. I have a McAfee firewall which I have configured to allow access to AS and to open file sharing and port 80 (suggestions from other threads). AS looks for the device (an X50v) and says that it is not a PPC. The only service the Axim can find on the Windows desktop is "ad hoc personal use"--no serial port, active sync, etc. Others have said that the SP2 setup works better than the WIDCOMM setup. What am I missing?

I found http://web.belkin.com/support/download/downloaddetails.asp?file_id=1899 helpful when getting my Belkin dongle enabled. Perhaps it will help...

Thank you. I have tried this workaround with the driver that came with my adapter. I have what windows calls an unsigned driver, and it dislikes the driver so much that it crashed my pc on reboot when I forced it over the windows driver. Ultra has no updated driver (I think they are just becoming aware of this issue), so I am at a loss.
