Tapping on a .jpg in File Explorer doesn't open

I swear I used to be able to open pictures (.jpg) by tapping them in File Explorer, now I can't. I've tried other file types like .wmv movies and they open by tapping.

Could there be a setting I'm missing, or my "Pictures" application is corrupt? If so, how would I reload just the "Pictures" application?

Thanks,
Mike

File Association

If the jpg files just have a generic windows icon you probably remioved the file association when you were trying out other viewers. PocketTweak by tillansoft will fix you right up. You can assign the files to open with whatever your favorite player is and tapping on them in file explorer will open that program and your image. Do a backup first though.Anytime you play with the registry you should have a backup ready in case you do something wrong.

Thanks, but the files still had the "Pictures" icon. When I tap them, the file icon just blinked.

Well it sounds like hard reset time to me I'm afraid to say. I hate telling people to rebuild there systems but that Pictures Program is in the ROM and cannot be reinstalled. Have you considered just using a different picture viewer mmiller2002?

Well, I did the hard reset yesterday, and Pictures worked fine. I've now been building back the applications that I want. So I checked Pictures again today by tapping on a file in File Explorer, and I didn't work! So, the whole reason that I have hassled with a hard reset was a waste.

Whe I tap on a picture file in File Explorer, the icon just blinks.

Whatever the last app was that you installed before testing again is conflicting with Pictures. You have to decide which one you want more, Pictures or the one that messes it up, Whatever that may be...

Will I probably have to Hard Reset again to get Pictures working properly, even if I uninstall all the extra programs?

It works again. I think that it may be "tdLaunch," but I'm not sure. tdLaunch seemed a bit quirky in the install/uninstall process anyway.
