Question internet explorer

Is there any way to reinstall, update, or repair IE on my device. I believe Avantgo has done some damage, and I'd like to know what options I have if any. :exc:

The only real way to repair it would be to do a hard reset.

What symptons are you experiencing?

If you think AvantGo is the problem you might want to try to uninstall and reinstall before you go through the trouble of a hard reset.

Hmm

Yes I'm trying to avoid a hard reset. I have had nothing but trouble with Avantgo since its upgrade, ActiveSync's upgrade or combination of both. I have even tried going back to previous versions, but there is always some problem, small, maybe, but to me intolerable. So after many hours of resetting and recovering info. I've decided to dump Avantgo even though I was a premium subscriber. It probably would work if I could keep Avantgo and its cache in main memory, but the cache size that I require is way to big for main memory. I've tried MANY ways of moving the cache to storage, but there always seems to be a glitch. I have found that my desktop's mobile favorites and or off-line saving functions just as well or sometimes better. Sorry, I don't usually write or rant this long, but Avantgo has totally pissed me off. What I'm trying to do now is remove all vestiges of Avantgo from my system, but what I have found is that it seems to be integrated into axim's or mobile 2003's version of IE. After removing a file called AvantgoIE, IE itself is disabled. The only I could figure to fix it, was to redownload avantgo then remove the program again. But I am left with a number of window files with avantgo tag on them, and I want to wipe avantgo completely from my system. IS THIS POSSIBLE?

You can try using a cleaner utility such as MemMaid. That might help remove all of AvantGo. You might also need to reinstall AvantGo first and then try to remove it again using MemMaid.

I have MemMaid. I have tried your suggestion a number of times. What happens most of the time is somehow my device can no longer reads my storage card properly and I have to restore everything on my SC. And yes I have checked my SC, fixed, formatted and even bought a new one. It seems as though Avantgo integrates itself into the system, like a virus. I even ran a virus scan on both DesktopPC and PPC. I have thought of a way to do it, using hard reset then wiping avantgo completely, but there has to be another way besides the long process of recovering all my data and passwords.

Have you tried a registry hack to move avantgo cache files to a memory card? It sounds like you want to really rather keep avantgo. The registry hack could solve your storage issue. Tweaks2k2.NET can do it automatically. If you do a boafrd search here for Registry Hacks Internet Explorer I'm sure sdomeone posterdd the registry values you need to change to do it manually.
