If you have the Rescoe Keyboard Pro it allows you to save up to 11 different phrases which is access with just two taps. Or, I have several words that would be considered mispelled in MS Pocket Word, so I tap them out manually and then do a spell check and click on the choice to add them to the dictionary. I do not believe this dictionary is ruined with a soft reset. Then in Settings I set it to suggest at least four words after entering just two letters.

There is the text file you can drag to your PC and add words to also... \Windows\Custom.dic, just open it with notepad, edit and copy back.
If I'm not mistaken, "custom.dic" only works with transcriber. For example, I always write with either Block Recognizer or the keyboard. There aren't any dictionary files on my Axim to edit. The only fix is to use Kiasoft's program, I guess.
Does anyone know where the axim get's it's dictionary from for suggested words? When I type with the keyboard, it only shows words that normally aren't relavant to what i'm typing. If there was a text file that could be changed somehow, without the use of ANOTHER program to unlock functionality that should have been included, I would be happy. Anyone?
How to sync PPC 2k2 spell check custom dictionary with the one used by Office in your Desktop
Sent by Mark to msn.news: "I've managed to get my PPC 2002 spell check custom dictionary to sync with the desktop one used by Office, so that I don't have to add all my technical
terms all over again:
ON PPC:
1) Using a registry editor, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Spell Check
2) Change the User_Dict value to \My Documents\Custom.dic
3) Using File Explorer, cut and paste the file "custom.dic" from the windows
folder into the My Documents Folder.
ON THE DESKTOP:
1) Open Word, and go to Tools/Options/Spelling and Grammar tab. Click on
Custom Dictionaries, and take note of the location of your custom.dic file
2) Using Windows Explorer, copy (not cut) and paste Custom.dic from that
location into the My Documents folder that syncs with you PPC.
3) Go back to Word, and Click Add.
4) Browse to your newly pasted Custom.dic, and click OK.
5) Click on the newly added dictionary, and then click Change Default.
6) Click OK twice.
Done. As far as I can tell, making these changes in Word also makes the same
changes for the other Office programms, so you don't have to go into each
separately."
Now I just have to find how to edit this file to Word's liking.
Hey, PocketPCThoughts just showed a new application called TapText which does allow for email, business cards, quotes, etc, lot of frequent words and phrases to be saved in a drop down menu on every page. Check it out: Here

Ok I have a problem now... My word completion is not working at all??? It is turned on in the settings menu and is supposed to suggest words after 2 letters but it is not doing anything.
Anyone got any ideas? Preferrably not involving a hard reset.

Not sure what is causing the problem. I had the same thing happen to me once, but it was on an Ipaq and happened right after installing Pocket Informant. It cleared up after PI was removed and then reinstalled, if I remember correctly.
Can anyone confirm that the Custom.dic file is only for transcriber?
