Outlook Calendar - work & Personal? Help

Hi

I have an Axim X30, and am using it with my work laptop. I use Outlook for work and share my calendar with the whole company, and my Axim syncs perfectly.

However, I also want to have all my personal calendar info on the Axim but not on my work Outlook. Is there any way round this? Would appreciate help from anyone else who has done this.

If you set all of your business things (contacts, appointments, etc) to use a category such as business, then in AS on your desktop you can change it to only sync the business categories. this should do what you want.

Thanks, sounds like a plan. I'll have to figure out if Outlook on the PC can automatically set all new appointments created to be in the 'Business" category. Cheers for the advice

I just make personal items in my calendar marked as personal, then people that I have granted access to will not see the personal items

You can create additional Calendars in Outlook by right clicking on your calendar folder in the nav bar and choosing New Folder, You can then name this calendar whatever you want and store only personal items in it. Unfortunately you can't share this, or any additional calendars, only your original.

you can use a program line Intellisync to keep seperate calendars and contact lists. It will allow you to maintain both "business" and Personal calanders. Both will be sync'ed to your AX but remain seperate on the computer.

Unfortunately, Intellisync seems very buggy, its already died on my a few times. Other solutions also didn't work. The categories one seemed a good idea but it only works for items from the desktop to the Ax, not the other way round. I want the calendar items on the Ax, not on the desktop. Having had a hunt round the net, this seems to be a tricky problem. If anyone has any other ideas, or any other reliable syncing software, I'd be pleased to hear it

Question AS Syncs all those Calendar categories that you have specifically told it NOT to sync

Hi,

I own a Dell Axim X30 624Mhz Pocket pc that is preloaded wtih Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I've upgraded the MS ActiveSync software from 3.7.1 to 3.8 and found a glitch with it.

I've some calendar items in my PDA with different categories, some I want to sync at work and some I do not want to sync(not even be listed in Outlook at work). When I specify the list of categories that can be synced in the "ActiveSync" settings dialog, I uncheck all the categories ("personal - homeonly" categories that I do not want to sync at work, ActiveSync still sync those items in outlook at work. This is so annoying because, I've very personal appointments stored in my PDA, that keep appearing in my Outlook inspite of the fact that I've instructed ActiveSync NOT to sync those items.

Is anybody else facing this problem? If so, Can someone please help me out to resolve mine?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
- Ramkumar
