emails keep getting deleted from inbox?

I'm using pop3 to get my email from Gmail, and when I connect to get/sent email, the ones in my inbox get deleted. Why does it do that? Is there a way to fix it?

I had this problem as well. Also asked about it in a previous thread and got no joy. Mentioned it to a mate who suggested turning on an option in outlook, that requests the mail server to keep the emails on it, after sending them. Default is off. Tried it, and it works for me! Hope this helps.

Oh yeh, I'm not using gmail, btw.

OK, in outlook, go to Tools, Email Accounts, View or change existing accounts, change, more settings, click the advanced tab, and check the "leave a copy of messages on server". No guarantees, but like I said, it worked for me and PIE no longer deletes emails from my Axim POP3 account.

BTW, how come this has been moved to "Microsoft Mobile 2003"...is that mobile phone software or what!?

That setting won't or shouldn't work for the gmail account though. It is either server based or something you change on your axim. Unless you are syncing the gmail account to your outlook inbox, in which case they reside on your pc and will remain on your axim until left there. The way I understood his question was that he was checking the email via WLAN or some other way. If I am way off base, don't hesitate to put me straight.

Yes, I am using a wireless connection to get my email from GMail with POP3. Not using outlook on PC at all. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a "special" feature...

But I would like to find out how to keep my mail in my inbox unless I manually delete it.

I am new at this site and with my Axim X50V. I am having the problem with the POP3 account and my Axim (am not using the Outlook email option) and thought I used to have somewhere that I could configure the Axim to leave the mail on the server, but can't find it anymore and so, if I delete the mail in my inbox, it deletes it on my mail server, which I do not want it to do.

Was there any resolution to this problem?

What happen when you create a new folder in your Gmail account and then move the mail which you want to keep in that folder ? Just an idea.
