I think you would need a hex editor to run actually on the axim to change the file. Otherwise, the only way to do it is to dump the rom, change the image with a hex editor, then reload it. I would try it, but I'm too lazy :)

okay we all saw that thread where you could change your reset screen.... well i have come up with a way that is much simpuler....
************************************************** *
1. your going to need some software like toatl commander
2. look for an image in the \WINDOWS\ folder called BOOT.BMP
3. rename this to BOOT_.BMP
4. put the image that you want to replace it with in the windows folder.
5. the image MUST be a bmp image
6. rename the selcted image to BOOT.bmp

all done ....i changed mine to cute little Oolong....

chris :)
Oolong boot screen.Neat!PHM Desktop Plus lets you change your Windows XP boot screen, but I tried changing it to Benjamin and, apparently,it makes it all pixelly.

I think it does not work on an x51v because I didn't see that file using resco file explore with the options changed to show all files. I'll see if I can find the file later with total commander. Anyways, nice find ABF.

I installed one of those splash screens that bob332 suggested, even though they were for phone edition. Did nothing... No harm and no gain.
