Need to View PDF on WindowsMobiile SE
Hi,
i have a Windows Mobile 2003 SE OS. As a result, i have found that the Adobe's free PDF file viewer is not compatible with the new SE. as a result, does anybody know if there is a software that can enable me to view PDF files on my WM SE? also, does anybody have an update if Adobe will offer a new download for the WM SE?

Yes it is. It just has the standard message that it 'may' not display properly (but it does)
alternatively you could try the clearvue software

I have problems reading many pdf files, even Adobe PDF. Do you know if there is a certain desktop version of Adobe Reader that needs to be used?

What do you mean when you say "Problems reading many pdf files"? They don't open? Can't see the text? I also use Adobe Reader (version 2.0 for Pocket PC) and have not had any problems. There are also other readers out there that people say work as well. Good Luck~

In standard mode, Reader thinks it's displaying on a QVGA screen, so the operating system does pixel-doubling. I normally run using ozVGA and in landscape mode, so Reader has the full 640 pixels to render the width of the page; the text is sharp and clear and, except for very small fonts, big enough to read.

Still Having Problems
hi,
thanks for everyone replying. I again tried to re-download the adobe pdf viewer 2.0. it installs, but it will only displays a few of the files that i have saved. so, i am convinced that the adobe pdf 2.0 is not intended to be used with the NEW Windows Mobile 2003 SE.
For those that the adobe 2.0 works with your device, keep in mind that i am talking about WM 2003 SE, not WM 2003, because when i use to use WM 2003, it would work fine.
so, i am planning to purchase the REpligo.
thanks

I am sure you will be happy with Repligo, it is a fine reader. For the record I have WM2003SE (as do most of us) and still have no problem with Adobe Reader. Good Luck~

You can be as convinced as you like.. but it works on my X50V with windows mobile 2003 Second Edition.
I think the problem may be with your PDF files. Do they contain any security settings on them, use any plug ins to display or are they just HUGE?
Let us know how you get on with REpligo though.

I think that the problem does lie within the files. However, I haven't been able to figure it out. I think perhaps it is not liking the scanned files I have using Adobe 7.0. I don't know. I would like to use RepliGo, but their support team said it works with Office 97 SR-2 and newer. I am using Office 97 SR-1 and haven't been convince of the need to upgrade. Anyone know where I can get a current version of Office cheaply and legitimately?

That is for the office plug-in. You still shoulde be able to make a .RGO file by printing the document and choosing Repligo as the printer. You can do that in any program you can print from including Acrobat Reader and internet explorer. I've also done it succesfully from Textmaker which also doesn't have a plug in. the plug in just gives you one step button to push, more of a macro than anything else.

So did you purchase RepliGo and how do you like it? I am still having same problems that you are, and it's really frustrating. How do the docs look on your Axim? My other concern is - will I ever be able to view Adobe Reader files again?

I've experienced the same problem with reader 2.0. I've downloaded a few e-books from the library and sent them to my x50v. They will not open. A little research on the Adobe site revealed that the pocket pc version of reader does not have Digital Rights Management and will not open files that require it. Non DRM PDF's open fine.

Hi G,
Thanks for your input. How does one know whether or not a file has DRM? I'm amazed that you found this on Adobe's site. I wonder why we have this problem. What have you done for a solution? I'm seriously thinking about trying RepliGo.
