MSN Messenger would go offline after a while
Hi everyone,

I'm having this weird connection problem with MSN Messenger. I'm using X50V (A03 ROM) with Netgear MR814 802.11b wireless router. I can connect to the internet very easy and I don't loos the connection. The signal quality is Excellent. I can login to MSN Messenger just fine. This happened almost everytime I stayed logged in, eventually while I'm chatting, Messenger would show that I'm offline and then tries to reconnect even though I never lost my internet connection. It's just so annoying. I assumed the problem is with the MSN Messenger so I used Agile Messenger also but same thing happens again. By the way I'm using Internet Explorer at the same time and there are no connection problems there. Of course because of this, my chat session gets interrupted each time. I searched this Forum but couldn't find any other similar thread. I'm just curious if someone else had similar connection problems. Also I tried disabling Power Saving, that didn't work either. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure your Internet has not lost the connection? If it's just for a brief moment, you will not notice when you are surfing. Try downloading some files and you might notice then. The same thing happened to me with a new router and I fixed it by disabling powersave.

I have noticed that MSN messenger on either my PC or POcket PC just disconnects and reconnects me all the time. It's my router that causes the problem, and I know lots of people who have the same problem but have yet to find a solution for it. It just disconnects for a sec then reconnects, annoying as hell.

If i'm on campus at my college and connect through wifi though, I never have that problem.

Just wanted to let you know that I fixed my MSN connection problem. Yes, it was the router. My internet connection was coming from a regular router to my wireless router. I reseted my wireless router and used it as a switch, instead of a router since the wired router was already doing that job. Anyway, as a result my MSN Messenger and internet never disconnects anymore(Unless I loose the signal, of course). If you are having similar problems, it's definitely related to the network settings of the Wifi network you are connecting to.
