WEP Settings in 2003
Hey everyone, quick question...
Where in Windows Mobile 2003 (I have an X5) do I set my WEP key setting, for my wireless network?
Thanks,
-Corey

k, that's the guide I used, but when I go to connection, advanced, Network card, I have:
802.11b Wireless LAN (assuming this one)
Apani Networks Filter (VPN shtuff)
NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver
L2TP NDISWAN Miniport
AsyncMac NDISWAN Miniport
PPTP NDISWAN Miniport
So there's the list, if I select the 802.11b Wireless LAN all I get is IP Address and Name Servers, nowhere for key settings... That's where I'm stuck, right now it works cause I don't have a key on my access point, it's locked down by MAC address, but I want to put a key on (more security.. not a bad thing, lol)
Any ideas? (windows Mobile 2003)
Thanks!

You don't want the Network Adapters, you want the list of Wireless connections. With the wireless card active, go Start, Settings, Connects (tab), Connections, Advanced, Network Card, and select the name of your network from the list (see figure WM03-7 in the WM03 section of the Guide). Then select Network Key (tab) and fill in the box next to Network key:

See, that's what's weird.. That's not what I'm getting...
When I go start, settings, connects, connection, advanced, network card, I see the networks (work, the internet)... But there are no settings for wireless stuff...
Something is really whacked :(

The wireless stuff only shows up if the adapter is functioning.

It is functioning, I can browse the web, etc... Problem is, I want to add a WEP key to my access point and I can't find a place to put it in my Axim, lol...

Are you sure you have WM03? If so, that page should be there. If you have PPC02, you need to add the WEP in the driver utility for the card.

All the internet searches I've done say it is 2k3... Weird...
However, when the icon used to be on the bottom it was the Symbol software that did the WEP stuff, I just wish I could get that damn icon back!
Gonna try re-loading the drivers... again, lol...

You are not going mad ; I also have no tab to enter WEP key details.
I've had to reinstall my WiFi card driver to enter key details.
WM003 sucks

Well, that is WM03 so I'm not sure why you don't have that page. Just wondering, now that the Symbol utility is back after the hard reset, does that page show up?
In any case, I'm glad you are back up and running. I'm sorry you had to resort to the hard reset, though.
