i was wondering, does the os come with java / j2me compatability or are there programs for java programing to download? thx

NO. There are various java plugins you can download such as jeode java. Net front also has a built in java.

There's also IBM's Java implementation, which supports J2ME(!).

I haven't used it yet, but I installed it without issues. You have to register and jump through a lot of forms to download it, though.

I use the same VM. Works fine for me.
It supports generic MIDlets and i've been able to run the MIDlets provided by Sun and some MIDlets i wrote.
I don't think it will do a good job running MIDlets like the ones for Nokia since these are not generic MIDlets.
Most of the MIDlets from midlet.org should also work.

Question

Is there a way to integrate the IBM MIDP with PIE? Never liked too much Java (rather a C++ guy) but anyway what I need it for is for running applets on web sites, not exactly for running full Java applications. Also can someone comment on SuperWaba vs. the IBM implementation? Seem to be the two biggest freely accessible competing implementations. TIA,
