Today plug-ins

Alright, so I'm new to PPC (and PDAs and all that). I have my shinny new X50v and am trying out all the different sw trials to determine what I like/don't like. I will then follow other's instructions and do a hard reset and install just those that I want, then backup.

But, and here is where I will really sound stupid, what are "Today plug-ins"???

So far I have bought Journal Bar & its Battery Pack Pro, Wisbar Advanced, MemMaid and Spb Full Screen Keyboard. Are the first three considered "Today plug-ins" because they appear on the desktop?

Today screen plug ins are little programs that show extra information on your today screen. Pocket Breeze is a good example of this. As is Pocket weather.

To find out if a program counts as a plug in go to Settings, then Today, and select the Items tab. Date, Owner Infom Messaging, Tasks and Calendar are there by default. Any thing else is a plug in.

You have a mixture there - some are Today plug-ins, some are apps like MemMaid.

If you go Start->Settings->(Personal Tab)Today->Items Tab you will see the list of items that currently make up your Today screen in the order that they appear. Some items are built-in such as Date and Owner Info and some are plug-ins such as Journal Bar. So a Today plug-in is something that will appear in this list that can select to appear somewhere on your Today screen.

Let me know if you find any cool ones! I'm just waiting for our new computer to come on Wednesday then I plan to go nuts downloading plug-in's etc!

You have to install calendar+ and cLaunch or tdLaunch.
