You know that the COM port assignments on the PC and PDA don't have to match right?

That's good to know, I always thought they did for BT syncing and the like. I assumed that was the case from whitelyt's instructions here.

You guys just aren't old school enough. Back in my day a Com Port was actually a physical interface!! :)

They have to match up within the PC and within the PDA, but not with each other. So if the BT serial service on the PC is on COM4 then the Activesync software on the PC has to know to use COM4. But the PC can use COM4 and the PDA can use COM8 and it's fine. It's just a locally significant reference.

I don't want to change my Bt on my but on my pda.

ok, I'll try to explain more on my problem.

I must configure BT for use a GPS wired.
I know that probably it's strange but it's the only way to use TT.
I see that TT use the default connection of BT, and the default connection for BT is serial port com8.
If BT can use default connection how serial port com1, I can connect TT with GPS wired. :rolling:

Nope, that makes no sense whatsoever. Sounds more like voodoo than logic :)

The settings seem to be quite well distributed through the registry so I'm not sure that there in an easy way to change it. But it doesn't sound like it's going to make any difference, having to use BT to communicate with a WIRED GPS makes no sense at all.
